UK-registered charities and educational institutions can apply for grants to improve the quality of life and social inclusion for individuals with severe physical or learning disabilities, and other themes.
Small grants are awarded by this Foundation for between £500 and £2,500 for projects or core operating costs.
There are usually two funding rounds each year, in March and August.
The Foundation’s areas of focus are:
- Relief of persons in need, hardship or distress by reason of disaster or as a consequence of social or economic circumstance
- Provision/Maintenance of care and accommodation for the sick and elderly
- Promotion of education – in particular within the Derbyshire region
- Environmental Conservation/Preservation/Protection/Improvement – in particular where this would encourage the provision of access by members of the general public
- Human physical wellbeing (the Foundation is proactive in this area and will not make grants in response to unsolicited applications).
Funded projects must be made available to all potential users or beneficiaries, regardless of race or religious denomination, and actions taken wherever possible to promote inclusivity.
The funding is open to organisations with at least two years of operational history, an annual income below approximately £750,000, and a full set of financial accounts.
The Trustees will not provide multiple grants to the same charity in a 12 month period.
Organisations that have submitted an unsuccessful application should wait for 12 months before submitting a further application.
The closing date for applications, using their online form, is either 31 August 2025, or when 150 applications are received.
Applications will be reviewed at the trustees’ meeting on 15 October 2025
Successful applicants will be notified within two weeks.
