JOB: Volunteer Coordinator, SEEN – apply by 30 Jun

Salary: £17.82 per hour / 12 hours per week

This is a part-time opportunity for a practising Christian to recruit, train, manage and oversee a team of volunteers.

SEEN is a Christian charity providing unbiased health and relationship support and education, to young people and adults, and those facing any pregnancy loss or crisis. 

The purpose of this role is to provide operational leadership and oversight of their Volunteer Programme and support it’s development.

The Volunteer Coordinator will work to ensure volunteers feel equipped and supported to use their skills and lived experience in a range of established volunteer roles. 

They will also work with the SEEN team to develop and recruit volunteers for new roles that support the organisation deliver on its aims and objectives. The role will involve maintaining close working relationships with our Director and Lead Counsellor. 

You’ll be able to build an enthusiastic team to help deliver and develop the services provided including listening, prison, community and befriending.

Typical tasks will involve (but are not limited to):  

  • recruiting, inducting, training and supervision of volunteers 
  • volunteer recognition and feedback 
  • development and marketing 
  • Quality Assurance 
  • health and safety, quality and other compliance. 

Candidates must be fluent English speakers, have good communication and organisational skills, a proven understanding of volunteers and their environment, knowledge and experience of counselling, and experience of managing a team and working with volunteers.

There is a requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian and able to subscribe to Seen’s Faith Statement 

It is desirable to have experience of working as a counsellor and Volunteer Manager, volunteering experience, an appreciation of SEEN’s work and previous experience in an administration role. 

You’ll need to be a self-motivated multi-tasker with good IT (Microsoft Office) and numeracy skills.

You should also be willing to attend training as necessary and must respect confidentiality.
