The 2026 funding round of this programme is open, to support UK museums to grow and sustain existing programmes that deliver measurable health and wellbeing outcomes.
Around 10 grant awards of £50,000 to £75,000 per round are anticipated.
Funded projects may include mental health support, creative therapies, initiatives to reduce loneliness, physical health activities, and partnerships with healthcare or community organisations.
Programmes should focus on vulnerable groups, such as older adults, refugees, or people with long-term conditions, and demonstrate proven impact, strong strategic alignment, and a commitment to sustainability.
Staff training and development to enhance wellbeing work may also be supported.
The fund prioritises deepening existing activity rather than launching new or short-term projects.
Applicants must complete a short online eligibility quiz. If eligible, they will then be able to book a conversation to talk through their idea. If all the essential criteria are met and it is seen as suitable, an invitation to complete a formal application will be made.
The closing date for enquiries for this funding round is 20 May 2026.
The final submission deadline will be shared with invited applicants and will provide adequate time to complete an application.
Applicants will be advised of the outcome in late-September 2026.
