Join a fantastic, supportive, and developmental team and workplace, supporting people and helping them to change the course of their lives for the better.
The Richmond Foodbank is run by the Vineyard Community Centre and is part of the Trussell network which trains, equips and supports foodbanks across the country. It helps those in food poverty who need emergency food supplies and operates a main Foodbank at the Vineyard Centre, plus six other satellites services elsewhere across the borough – in Barnes, Fulwell, Ham, Hampton, Mortlake, and Whitton.
The Foodbank provides a minimum of three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in crisis (for instance by advice agencies, GPs, social services and schools), as well as support to help people resolve the crises they face.
Reporting to the Richmond Foodbank Manager, and responsible for the Logistics Coordinator, you will work with a Volunteer Coordinator, Volunteer Foodbank Leaders in the six satellite Foodbanks, and Foodbank volunteers.
Your overall responsibility will be to:
- assist in running Richmond Foodbank efficiently and to a high standard, in accordance with the Trussell model and statutory requirements.
- supervise and support the Logistics Coordinator
- assist in supporting volunteer Foodbank Leaders and their teams.
There will be specific responsibilities for referral partners, volunteers, quality assurance and compliance, external relations, and administrative tasks.
Interested applicants should have:
- a personal commitment to the Vineyard’s Mission and core Christian values – under the provisions of the Equality Act, it is an occupational requirement for the role to be filled by a Christian
- genuine empathy and heart for the Centre’s guests to give ‘Help in Crisis and Hope for Life’
- 3-years supervisory experience in a customer-focused work environment such as retail, hospitality, or social work
- excellent and proven interpersonal skills that demonstrate a value for all people.
