JOB: LGBTQ+ Community Support Worker, Free2B Alliance

Salary: £16,926 – £18,028 per annum / 21 hours per week

An exciting opportunity to help deliver services for LGBTQ+ young people.

Free2B is looking for a Community Support Worker to contribute to the delivery of their LGBTQ+ youth provision.

Free2B has a small, dedicated, collaborative and creative LGBTQ+ youth service team who support over 200 young people each year through one-to-one and group services. Their key outcome aims are:

  • Improving wellbeing
  • Building personal resilience
  • Reducing social isolation

In this role, you will provide one-to-one support to young people within schools and community settings. The role also involves offering safe spaces for young people to explore their situations and develop skills and strategies to manage the difficulties they face.

You will support schools to set up and deliver LGBTQ+ forums, as well as supporting young people to access appropriate group provisions. The role also involves promoting the LGBTQ+ youth support service at ad hoc community events and agency team meetings.

This is a 3-year fixed term contract with potential for extension.
