FUNDING: Weavers Benevolent Fund – next deadline 14 Mar 24

Grants are awarded by this fund to support young offenders, ex-offenders and disadvantaged young people (5-30 years) at risk of offending.

Local organisations are favoured, such as those in small villages or towns with an income of less than £100,000, or those in larger cities and/or across the UK having an income of less than £250,000.

There is a small grants programme offering up to £5,000 per annum and a main grants Programme with no maximum grant limit. The funding is available for both project and core costs.

Previous grant awards have included community-based projects for disadvantaged young people such as mentoring, anti-gang and drug abuse programmes, summer clubs in deprived areas, art and theatre workshops, and raising awareness of the problems of teenage pregnancy.

The Charitable Grants Committee usually meet in February, July and October each year and it can take up to four months for applications to be processed.

The next closing date for applications is midday on 14 March 2024.

Final decisions will be given in June 2024.

Applications that arrive after a deadline are automatically rolled forward to the next.

Following this round, the next application deadlines are:

  • Thursday 4 July 2024 (decisions in Oct 24)
  • Thursday 14 November 2024  (decisions in Feb 25).

Advice and information about the grant, or requests for an application form, can be made by emailing charity@weavers.org.uk.
