UK registered charities working in a wide range of areas can apply for one-off small grants through a two-stage application process.
The Grocers’ Charity typically provides one-off grants up to £5,000 for UK registered charities with a turnover of under £500,000.
The charity supports work in the areas of:
- Relief of Hardship
- Children and Young People
- the Elderly
- Disability and Inclusion
- Health
- Military
- the Arts
- Environment and Conservation.
Eligibility criteria are available for each of the above and you can see examples and information on previous grants awarded.
The next deadline for initial applications is 1 September 2026.
Up to 3 weeks after the deadline, you will receive an email letting you know if your initial application will proceed to the second stage.
Trustees meet four times a year to review grant applications in December, March, April and June.
After submitting a second-stage application form, the funder will let you know at which grant meeting they will consider your application.
For more details and pre-application resources, visit the Grocers’ Hall website.
