A new fund for not for profit organisations who work with Black children and young people.
This is a £1m Youth Social Action fund from BBC Children in Need opened in April 2022.
In partnership with BBC Radio 1xtra , £10m will be committed over 10 years to create and invest in opportunities for Black children and young people.
The fund offers grants of up to £50,000 for up to 18 months to eligible groups and projects and seeks to help to build confidence and skills and empower young people to take on an active and leading role in tackling issues that affect them.
The aims of the fund are to:
- Reach Black children and young people with opportunities to have their voices heard. It will empower them to create change about issues that matter to them
- Achieve positive outcomes for Black children and young people through Youth Social Action
- Learn about what Youth Social Action means to Black children and young people.
