The Henry Smith Charity aims to help people and communities at a time of need and to bring about positive social change.
They have three priority areas of Getting Started, Building Independence and Safer Futures.
Their current funding streams include:
- Together We Begin: up to £150,000 over three years for organisations in areas with high levels of child poverty which provide early years parenting support and promote children’s development through sustained, face-to-face work in the home – the deadline to submit an EOI is 5pm on Thursday 28 August 2025.
- Shout!: up to £240,000 over four years to support non-statutory advocacy services that help young people speak up, make informed choices, and secure their rights, with a focus on care-experienced young people, LGBT+ young people, and young people with learning disabilities and/or neurodivergences – the deadline to submit an EOI is Wednesday 20 August 2025.
- Domestic Abuse Fund: £250,000 over five years for ‘led by and for’ organisations delivering specialist domestic abuse services – the closing date to apply is 5pm on Wednesday 10 September 2025.
- Holiday Grants: one-off small grants of up to £2,750 for recreational trips and holidays for groups of children aged up to 13 years. Priority is given to the UK’s 20% most deprived areas. If your group isn’t located in a high-deprivation area but works with children facing significant financial or systemic challenges, explain this in your application. For Summer trips, the application period is 20 March to 21 July 2025, and for Winter trips, the application period is 22 July to 19 November 2025.
