FUNDING: Green Community Grants, Wildlife Trust – apply by 15 Jul

Small charities and not-for-profit groups in the UK can now apply for grants to deliver projects that restore nature, improve access to green spaces and help communities respond to the climate emergency.

The grants of up to £25,000 are available to organisations with an annual income between £10,000 and £1 million that have been operating for at least 12 months.

Applicants’ aims must align with either contributing to nature recovery and responding to the climate emergency, or improving nature-rich spaces and access to them.

Eligible activities include habitat creation, species protection, recycling initiatives, litter picks, beach cleans and sustainable transport projects.

Priority will be given to groups showing strong community involvement and lasting environmental impact.

To assist with decision-making and assessment, priority will be given to smaller organisations, those which work in communities located in highly deprived areas, those which support marginalised groups, and those which focus on habitat or species restoration.

The fund is open for two further application windows in 2026, as follows:

  • 24 June to 15 July
  • 30 September to 21 October.
