This Girl Can Community Fund is provided with funding from the National Lottery and administered by Sport England.
It aims to support women aged 16+ to get active by offering grants to local projects that will contribute to overcoming the barriers some women face in getting active – from a lack of opportunities offered in their local area, to cost and availability of childcare.
Grants ranging from a few hundred pounds to up to £10,000 and support activities that boost the heart rate. Activities could include a wide range of physical projects and grant-making decisions will be based on the difference that can be made with the funding. Ideas can have a short-term focus or provide longer-term support to help women achieve sustainable behaviour change.
Applications can be made by individuals and groups, including not-for-profit organisations, voluntary or community clubs, registered charities or community interest companies, social enterprises, schools and statutory bodies.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 25 February 2020.
