Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum / 21 hours per week (flexibility available)
If you’re interested in making a real difference to the lives of disabled people, this is an exciting position to build a career in policy and campaigns.
To apply for this part-time post, you will be keen to get involved with, and be able to learn about key issues affecting Deaf and Disabled people’s lives.
You will do this by engaging with local disabled people and listening to the issues and barriers they are experiencing across a range of policy areas including housing, benefits, independent living, transport, health and poverty.
You will play a vital role in promoting Deaf and Disabled people’s rights to key local, London or national decision-makers and raising awareness of the inequalities faced by the Deaf and Disabled community.
The ideal candidate will be:
- passionate about social justice and promoting Deaf and Disabled people’s rights
- have experience of engagement activities including holding consultations, surveys, running social media or digital campaigns
- have experience of working in policy or producing social policy research and analysis through work, activism or academia
- have good campaigning and influencing skills that you want to develop and use to bring about tangible social change.
Alongside great analytical, IT, influencing, and communication skills, you might be a recent graduate, someone looking for a career change, or someone who wants to build on their policy skills. This job will give you the chance to work on different elements of policy and campaigning and make a real difference to the lives of Deaf and Disabled people.
