National Adult Safeguarding Week is an annual awareness-raising campaign to highlight safeguarding issues.
Each day of National Safeguarding Week will focus on a different theme. The themes include Modern Slavery, Self Neglect, Domestic Abuse, Transforming Care and Safeguarding Adults in Sport and Activity.
As well as highlighting issues, the week aims to improve the awareness of responsibilities, which should always be clearly reflected in any organisation’s policies and procedures.
The Richmond and Wandsworth Safeguarding Adults Board is running a week of local bite-size training sessions each day of the week, as follows:
- Mon 18 Nov – Modern Slavery
- Tue 19 Nov – Self Neglect
- Wed 20 Nov – Domestic Abuse
- Thu 21 Nov – Transforming Care
- Fri 22 Nov – Cyber Security
The sessions are 90 minutes long and are held at either Twickenham Training Centre (Grimwood Road) or Wandsworth Town Hall – please check individual listings. Places are limited and early booking is recommended.
