JOB: Volunteer & Class Coordinator, Cooking Up – apply by 30 Nov

Salary: £23,000 per annum pro rata / 2 days per week

Are you keen to help people facing food poverty? Do you love organising people and events? This is an exciting opportunity with a great local charity.

Cooking Up is a registered charity in Richmond upon Thames that runs community cookery classes for people facing challenging circumstances. They are working with a range of organisations across the borough and have recruited some amazing volunteers and facilitators to run their schedule of classes.

Could you be the person to help manage their growing volunteer base and coordinate their expanding cookery class programme?

The Volunteer and Class Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of volunteer management including recruitment, training, and coordination.

Additionally, they will be responsible for the coordination of the cookery classes involving communication with client organisations, the booking process and managing freelance facilitators.

You’ll need experience of managing volunteers and, preferably, the planning and running of events. In addition, good IT skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint are essential

The role is mainly remote, with a weekly in-person meeting with the trustees, held in Teddington.

The post is offered on a 12-month fixed term contract, with potential for extension dependent on funding.

There is also a possible increase in hours to 21 per week, also depending on funding.
