Salary: £29,445 or £17,667 per annum / 21 hours per week
A great opportunity to build flexibly on your charity career while supporting children and young people.
In this post with Richmond Carers Centre you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on improving support for young carers in schools and at home
You will be responsible for implementing the Young Carers in Schools Programme with a range of local primary and secondary schools to share good practice, provide relevant tools and training, and to celebrate the great outcomes that many schools achieve for young carers.
The Programme’s aim is to improve the identification, recognition and understanding of the needs of young carers, raise their profile in schools, and ensure their needs are met. In turn, this will lead to the improvement of the health, education and wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people who are caring for others.
You’ll also be expected to work with volunteers at Richmond Carers Centre and to use appropriate monitoring and evaluation reports to show their funders what’s been achieved.
You should have experience of working with young carers or other vulnerable children’s groups and have a knowledge of their needs, along with knowledge of the school system.
You will have strong communication, organisational and team skills, as well as being self-motivated and positive in your approach, and with experience of project management and reporting.
The post is based in Twickenham and offers a flexible hybrid style of working.
Application is by CV and covering letter.
The closing date for applications is Sunday 19 November 2023.
Interviews are scheduled for Monday 4 December 2023.
