The final round of this fund is open for applications that focus on violence against women and girls or the fund’s general programme.
The Tampon Tax Fund allocates funds generated from the VAT on sanitary products to projects to improve the lives of disadvantaged women and girls.
The fund is open to charitable, benevolent and philanthropic organisations from across the United Kingdom and applications should be for £350,000 or more.
Applications are welcomed from individual organisations or formal consortia with an identified lead organisation. The value of the grant requested must not represent more than 50% of the applicant’s or consortia’s collective annual income.
Grants may be for 12 to 18 month projects and all project activities must be concluded and funds must be spent by 31st March 2023.
A wide range of sub themes have been identified under the general programme, including:
- alcohol and drug abuse
- BAME groups services
- consequences of Covid-19 for disadvantaged women and girls
- education and employment
- gender equality
- improving digital skills and knowledge
- LGBTQI+ specific services
- tackling loneliness
- mental health
- multiple complex needs
- older women
- period poverty
- women and girls with disabilities
- women and girls with learning disabilities.
