Customer and Communities Improvement Fund – apply now

Customer and Communities Improvement Fund (CCIF) is South Western Railway’s commitment to support projects that benefit communities or address an area of social need across SWR network.  Applications for the current funding round can be made in June and July 2019.

The CCIF is intended to support projects which wouldn’t normally meet usual commercial criteria.  There are two funds per year, split across the Isle of Wight and the UK Mainland.

The fund offers £2,600,000 per year for Mainland projects and looks for ideas and schemes which have identified a need within a community a or social need, such as:

• Educational, history and heritage
• Outreach projects helping to open rail travel to more communities
• Marketing and promotion
• Research
• Integrated transport projects ( improving access to stations by better walking, cycling and public transport)
• Station enhancements and refurbishnent of disused rooms/buildings

Bids should demonstrate clear identification of the need, evidence of community engagement and benefit and strong evidence of deliverability.

They will be assessed, shortlisted and approved from August to December 2019, followed by finalisation of plans and confirmation of contracts to successful applicants in between January and March 2020.
